Reid Art & Design Advisory
Connecting the right people with the right objects.
About
Reid Art & Design Advisory Inc. is a full-service art advisory specializing in modern, post-war, and contemporary art, and 20th century design. We work with private clients, fiduciaries, interior designers, and real-estate developers who rely on our reputation for discretion, confidentiality, and transparency in all aspects of our business.
Channeling more than two decades of expertise at the highest tiers of the market, we offer our clients a suite of art services — primary market acquisitions, secondary market sales, charitable planning, collection management, estate planning, and complex financial deal structuring.
Founder Katherine Reid's career has taken her to some of the most respected institutions in the field — from museums, to auction houses, to family office art advisories — offering a rare 360° perspective on the market: where value lies, how to move through it, and what endures. She is compliant with uniform standards of professional appraisal practice (USPAP).
Katherine holds a B.A. from Skidmore College and an M.A. from Middlebury College, and began her career in art at le Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
Career
The Advisory
At the intersection of art, design, and commerce, we offer the kind of counsel that only comes from decades spent at the highest levels of the market — advising institutions, building collections, and executing transactions that matter.
We believe the best advisory relationships are built on trust, discretion, and a genuine passion for the work itself. But passion alone is not enough. We pair deep market knowledge with rigorous analytical thinking — tracking trends, interrogating valuations, and stress-testing assumptions — to ensure every decision is as informed as it is inspired.
Whether navigating an acquisition, structuring a sale, or developing a long-term collection strategy, we bring both the qualitative eye and the quantitative discipline the market demands. Art and design are emotional pursuits, but they are also asset classes — and we treat them with the seriousness both dimensions deserve.
Our experience spans the full breadth of the market — from Post-War & Contemporary Art to 20th Century Design, to Prints and Photographs — and our network reflects years of relationships cultivated across auction houses, galleries, family offices, banks, law firms, and private collections worldwide.
This is not transactional work. It is a practice built on integrity, analytical precision, and the belief that great art and design, thoughtfully placed, creates lasting value — financial and otherwise.
